Video: How to make water tastier without adding a lot of calories to it
According to the advice of experts, at least 2 liters of water should be drunk per day. Moreover, it is water, all other liquids do not count. Water is the best source of health and weight loss. Still, because it has zero calories. True, drinking water alone all day is often difficult - if only because the water has no taste. But sometimes you really want to pamper yourself with something tasty. We will tell you how to do this with ordinary water, so as not to greatly increase its calorie content.
How to make water tasty
Forget about low-calorie soda, iced tea, and other sugary drinks. Plain water can be made delicious with fruits and herbs.
You will need:
- glass jars or jugs;
- of course, water;
- berries, fruits or vegetables;
- herbs, anything from mint and basil to rosemary and lavender.
Pick your favorite fruits and spices and place them in the bottom of the jug. Fill with water. The aromas and flavors of fruits and herbs should spread over the water, but it doesn't happen so quickly. Refrigerate the pitcher for at least 4 hours. If you want to enhance the flavor, leave the water for 8 hours or longer.
The choice of fruits is not at all important, but their condition is. Only fresh or frozen fruits and berries should be used. This scheme does not work on dried foods.
Calorie Free Juice
The juice that the fruit will emit will give the water a taste, while if it increases its calorie content, it will be very insignificant. In no case should you specially sweeten such a "cocktail": the natural fructose extracted from the fruit will do everything by itself. But you can use not only plain water, but also carbonated water - the recipe will work in both cases.
If you do not yet know where to start, we offer you ready-made and proven recipes. The method for preparing each is simple - pour fruits into a container, soften them a little or cut them so that they release juice (but do not crush at all). Add water and refrigerate.
- half a chopped cucumber;
- half chopped lime;
- fresh mint leaves.
If the minty flavor is too strong for you, substitute rosemary, thyme, or tarragon for mint.
- 1 orange, chopped
- 1 lime, chopped
- 1 lemon, sliced.
Mint and lavender are ideal for this combination - they soften the taste of citrus fruits.
Mint Pineapple Cocktail

Make sure to crush or crush the mint lightly for flavor.
