The general public knows and loves the Frenchman Tiersen in Russia first of all as the author of the soundtrack to "Amelie" composed from his early recordings. From that moment on, music lovers from all over the world began to follow the work of the neoclassical composer with even greater interest. And this, by the way, is one of the main contradictions of Tiersen's nearly 20-year career, who composes such cinematic music that he is regularly mistaken for a film composer.

In fact, Jan Tiersen is a multi-instrumentalist and composer, whose interests cover both classical minimalism, and lines, and folktronics, and quite traditional indie rock. The musician can play a dozen instruments, but at concerts he most often takes up the piano, accordion, violin and electric guitar. This fall, the maestro himself will arrive in Moscow to play his ornate compositions at the Crocus City Hall!

In addition to the already presented pieces at a concert in Moscow on November 1, ten new piano pieces by Jan Tiersen will be performed, the scores for which have been published in Jan's recently published book EUSA. They will become the basis for the artist's upcoming album, and this concert is the first opportunity to hear new works performed by Tiersen live! The album was recorded at the studio known to every music lover - Abbey Road and is scheduled for release on September 24, 2016!

Jan Thiersen notes: “Each piece refers to a specific corner of the island of Ouessant in Brittany (Eusa is the name of the island in Breton) where I live. Ouessant is not just a house, it is a part of me, often of who I am. The aim of the book was to create a musical map of the island, and therefore of myself."
