Prince Charles has said more than once that he dreams of a granddaughter. Finally, the dream has come true, and His Highness does not hide his joy. It got to the point that, despite the royal protocol, the prince gladly talks about the baby at public events.

The journalists recalled that after the birth of the girl, His Highness was incredibly happy and boasted to the press: “She is very beautiful. I was hoping it would be a girl. Now there is someone who can take care of me when I am very old."

Recall that the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge was named after her grandfather - Charlotte is derived from the male name Charles, or Charles in the English-speaking tradition. It became popular in the 18th century thanks to the wife of King George III.

Now the ducal couple is preparing for the baptism of their daughter. Recently it became known that the ceremony will take place next month. "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge William and Kate are pleased to announce that Princess Charlotte's baptism will take place on Sunday, July 5th," Kensington Palace said in a statement. Baptizing the princess, according to tradition, will be Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby. The service will be held at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene at the royal residence in Sandringham.
