At one time, Barbra shot several films. For the film "Yentl" (1983) she received a Golden Globe. However, for the past 20 years, Streisand has not been attracted to directing. But a biopic about Catherine can make a difference.

According to Deadline.com, the 73-year-old celebrity is currently in talks with one of the film studios. According to some reports, Streisand intends to focus on the empress's “sensuality” in her film. There is no information about the casting of the actors yet.

We will remind, in the project of Zaitsev, the role of Catherine was played by the actress Yulia Snigir. “My whole body cracks with excitement when I think about the role that I have to play. A nervous, intelligent, ambitious woman who became the ruler of the fate of a great country. This is a great responsibility and great happiness. And this is an important event in my life,”- said the artist shortly before filming.

The shooting of the first block of the series "Great" took place from December 2013 to mid-July 2014 in more than 200 objects in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region (Peter and Paul Fortress, Smolny Cathedral, Oranienbaum; Konstantinovsky, Gatchinsky, Vorontsov palaces). The twelve-part film covers events from 1744 to 1762.

As the creators promised, if the first season goes well, the series will be extended.
