Geri Halliwell, one of the former soloists of the popular late twentieth century group Spice Girls, announced her desire to pursue children's literature.

As it became known, she has already signed a contract with the publishing house Macmillan for the publication of six children's books. One of the main characters in the series of fairy tales will be a princess, by the image of which is meant the former colleague of Halliwell in the group - Victoria Beckham (Victoria Beckham).

"Victoria is flattered by this idea and I hope she will read my books to her sons," Halliwell said in an interview with Reuters. It is also known that the main heroine of fairy tales is called Eugenia Lavender.

As you know, Jeri Halliwell is not the first pop star to take up children's literature. Previously, such projects have already been dealt with by such singers as Madonna and Kylie Minogue.

Halliwell's first book will appear about a year later, in May 2008, and the next five will be released one after the other once a month during the summer and fall of that year. The debutante writer promises to independently read audio versions of her works and record a special song for the release of the first volume.

The singer seriously hopes that her books will not only appeal to children, but also instill in them a taste for reading. "But to do this, books have to be delicious, like chocolate, and fun," explained the former peppercorn.
