On the night of February 3 to 4, a fire broke out in an elite metropolitan high-rise building located on Nikitsky Boulevard. The fire quickly spread through the apartments. In total, about 2 thousand square meters were affected. Most of all went to the fourth and fifth floors. According to preliminary information, the epicenter of the fire was the apartment of Yuri Bashmet's daughter.
Ksenia herself was not injured, but the fire claimed the lives of four people. Four more were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity. In total, specialists evacuated 42 people, including 8 children.
At the moment, the investigation has two versions. According to one of them, the electrical wiring could not withstand the load. The house was erected before the revolution and it is likely that the wiring was not replaced with a modern one in all apartments. According to the second, there was a gas explosion. This version of the specialists was led by the testimony of witnesses who claim that a loud bang was heard before the start of the fire.
Authorized technicians have yet to identify the true cause of the fire. It is known that the elite building houses the apartments of many stars: Nikas Safronov, Lyubov Kazarnovskaya, and Ingeborga Dapkunaite. They themselves have not yet commented on the incident. Whether their housing was damaged is also unknown.
