The exhibition “Annie Leibovitz. The life of a photographer. 1990-2005”presents a part of the creative biography of the photographer, who has been making photo reports and unique portraits for the American magazines Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone for more than a quarter of a century.

The Moscow exhibition has grown by a third compared to the exposition presented in June at the Hermitage, adding photographs that have not been exhibited anywhere before, the event producers specify.

There are about 200 photographs in total - portraits, landscapes, interior photography, reportage sketches. Hollywood fans will be able to admire pictures of Mick Jagger, Robert De Niro, Nicole Kidman, Johnny Depp, Kate Moss and Brad Pitt. But a key place among all these portraits is given to two close, recently deceased people - Leibovitz's father and close friend, the writer Susan Sontag.

“When I started working on the selection of photographs, my close friend died, my father died, my children were born. All this time I continued to shoot, but it was then that I realized that personal photography is of great importance to me. We all experience some moments in life, love and die. Every moment is an important story worth telling,”Annie quotes Glomu.ru.

Leibovitz remains one of the most sought-after photographers in the world to this day. However, despite the fact that provocative photo shoots are constantly expected from her, she admits that at the moment the conceptuality in her photographs is giving way to simplicity:

“If you do something for a very long time, you notice how quickly the attitude towards work changes, - says the celebrity. - At first, I shot very conceptual shots, more like short films, such as pictures of Whouppy Goldberg in a milk bath. Then I wanted to say to do something more real or something, real. But it gets boring at some point - and you say to yourself: "Stop being so believable! You need more madness!" When you are a photographer, you can afford all these extremes."
