What unites Moscow aesthetes and fashionistas this week? An exhibition led by the famous French house Christian Dior has opened at the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. The exposition includes outfits created both by the founder of new look and by his followers.

"This exhibition shows not only what Christian Dior and his followers did, but also reveals the sources of inspiration for the designers of the house, so the exposition has a lot of various works of art," Zinaida Bonami, deputy director of the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts for exhibition activities, said in an interview with RIA Novosti. …

Most of the exhibits are from Dior's own collection, some were provided by private collectors. To heighten the effect, the compositions are supplemented with paintings by Van Gogh, Sargent, Cézanne and Modigliani, specially brought from the museums of Orsay, Louvre and Versailles.

A full ticket to the exhibition, which will run until July 24, is much cheaper than Dior lipstick - 400 rubles, RIA Novosti notes.

The exposition begins with the main staircase: mannequins in black and white suits and hats are placed in glass showcases at the edges. One of them - from the very first show of Dior in 1947, the other was made half a century later; center - the Lady Dior handbag advertised by Oscar winner Marion Cotillard. The neon logo of the fashion house crowns the composition.

The white main hall is given over to the "Waltz of Time" section. From the works presented here, you can trace how Dior's favorite historical eras were reflected in the work of the couturier and his followers, among whom were Yves Saint Laurent, Gianfranco Ferré and John Galliano

Another large section of the exhibition - "Body and Line" - is dedicated to Dior's work on a dress, which he created directly on the model. The designers did not spare the Egyptian hall either - the sarcophagus with the mummy is furnished with bottles of J'Adore perfume.

On the opening day, the first fashionistas of the capital have already visited the exhibition: Svetlana Bondarchuk, Alena Doletskaya, Evelina Khromchenko, Natalia Vodianova and many others.
