Do not use both self-tanner and perfume at the same time

If you've ever tried perfume after self-tanning, you already know that it can give your skin a strange green tint. What is the reason? Some preservatives used in perfumes react with dioxyacetone, a component in dark brown self-tanners.

To avoid green spots, do not use perfumes, deodorants or lotions for at least 6 hours after applying your tanning agent.

Do not replace shaving cream with shower gel

The rich texture of the shaving cream reduces friction between the razor and skin and prevents cuts and scrapes. If your skin is very dry or prone to irritation, use shaving gel instead of shaving cream - it gives a thicker foam.

Do not dry your hair with a towel

Intense back and forth motion can damage the outer layer of hair and exfoliate the finest hair scales. And this will provoke the appearance of naughty curls, difficulties with styling may arise.

Better to wrap your hair with a towel, blot, squeezing the towel with your palms so that it absorbs as much moisture as it can.

Do not use thermal water on the plane

In fact, spraying does not help to moisturize the skin for a long time: everything that you spray evaporates quickly, and the skin remains even drier than it was. If you enjoy using thermal water, make sure that it contains additional moisturizers, such as aloe vera or glycerin: they block the evaporation of moisture, and the skin remains hydrated.

Don't shave your legs after taking a long bath

After 15-20 minutes in the bath, the skin swells, characteristic wrinkles appear on it, which means that the razor will not be able to slide with the same ease, and it will be more difficult to get to the base of the hairs. For perfect results, shower for 5-10 minutes before shaving.

Don't overdo it with skin enhancement

How do you know if your makeup is good or bad? It's very simple: if the cosmetics are good, the skin looks better after use, not worse. Many people think that if after the next remedy the skin turns pink or becomes slightly rough, then this remedy works effectively. In fact, if after applying something the skin turns red, this indicates irritation, inflammation, albeit mild. It is difficult for inflamed skin to retain moisture and resist free radicals. Cosmetologists recommend using a scrub or peeling no more than once a week. If in this case your skin will be in constant irritation, stop using the product altogether.

If your cheeks turn red after using a wash gel or lotion, it is most likely due to the fragrances that are causing you allergies. Look for products marked "no fragrances" or "hypoallergenic".

Don't spray scent directly on your hair

Most perfumes contain alcohol, which dries hair. If you want to create a cloud of your favorite scent around you, splash on your palms, let the alcohol evaporate, and then run your palms through your hair. If you have a roll-on bottle, apply some perfume to your fingertips, wave your hands, and then stroke your hair.

Do not trace lip contour before applying lipstick

Apply lipstick first, and then use a lip liner - go over the contour with it. It will glide easier than on dry lips, the line will be more regular and natural, in addition, the pencil will prevent the lipstick from “spreading”.

Don't trust the specified SPF in your makeup base

To measure the sun protection performance of a makeup base in a laboratory, a chemist smears 2 milligrams of the product on every square centimeter of skin. This is a thick layer. It turns out that for full protection, you need to apply about half a teaspoon of the product to your face. You hardly use that much.

Better to put on some good high SPF sunscreen first, wait until it is absorbed, and then use your usual makeup base or foundation.

If you put perfume on your wrists, do not three of them against each other

Friction enhances the interaction between the perfume and the natural secretions of the skin, as a result of which the scent can change. Better put the scent on your wrists and just let it dry. There is a classic rule (the French call it "scent trail"): one drop of perfume on each wrist (or one press on the spray), two on the neck, one on the décolleté. At these points, the veins are close to the skin, and the warmth of your body will help to better diffuse the scent.

Your face cream might be too oily

Even if the cream has the texture of a mousse or it says "ultra-light", this does not mean that it is not too oily. Most women have combination skin type, so they don't need too rich cream. Excess oil or nutrients can clog pores, resulting in acne and redness.

How to tell if your cream is too oily? See if petroleum jelly or mineral oils are in the first place in the composition.

Fatty creams should be used during the cold season, as well as for long flights, when the skin especially needs hydration.

Does peeling cause severe flaking?

This is the case when you yourself are to blame. Many women exfoliate too often, choose too intense a method. This can dry out the top layer of the skin. When the top layer is deprived of moisture, the body perceives it as a trauma and begins to produce natural fat more intensively. This can lead to acne.

In addition, peeling (especially its rough, tough subtypes) can touch the smallest blood vessels and damage them, and this is fraught with the appearance of rosacea and other skin diseases. So that the body does not take up arms against you, use the scrub no more than once or twice a week. Or skip it altogether if your creams or other cosmetics contain retinoids or AHA acids. In this case, your skin will be sufficiently clean and fresh even without peels.

Do you make a towel turban when you leave the bathroom with wet hair?

Yes.
No.

Are you actively moisturizing your hair?

If you use the conditioner and hair masks incorrectly, you can get unnecessary weight and greasy roots. And rightly so: apply evenly to the hair from the middle of the length to the ends, because it is this part of the hair that has suffered the most from styling, dyes and sunlight. It is the tips that need additional nutrition and hydration. Do not apply conditioner to the roots, because they receive nutrients and so, their hydration is due to the natural sebum. The extra nutrients will weigh down your hair, making it difficult to style. It is best to use products that will add volume without thickening your hair. Then the hairs will not fall out due to their own weight.
