Model known for fighting anorexia passed away

Christmas holidays in the modeling business are overshadowed. According to tabloids, 28-year-old French model and actress Isabelle Caro, who suffered from anorexia, has died. Moreover, according to some reports, the girl died in mid-November, but this became known only yesterday.

In 2007, Caro rose to prominence for her participation in the Italian anti-anorexia advertising campaign No Anorexia. Photographer Oliviero Toscani captured Caro, who, according to her, then weighed 27 kilograms, naked. The images of the girl appeared on the pages of many publications, as well as on street billboards, and caused a great response.

“I lost myself long ago and searched for too long,” Isabelle said during the campaign. - Now I want to show myself, although I know that the sight of my body is disgusting. I want to show young people how dangerous this disease is."

The No Anorexia campaign was carried out in connection with the deaths from starvation of girls employed in the fashion industry. So, in 2006, the Brazilian model Luisel Ramos died of a heart attack caused by anorexia. Later, exhaustion caused the death of her sister, model Eliana Ramos.

In the last years of her life, Caro tried to draw attention to the problem of anorexia among models. In 2008, her book The Little Girl Who Didn't Want to Get Fat was published in France. In addition, the Swiss singer Vincent Bigler and Caro worked on the recording of the song J'ai fin. The name of the song is a play on words, as the pronunciation of this phrase is very similar to the phrase "I'm hungry."

According to her acting teacher Isabelle, she passed away on November 17 when she returned to France from Tokyo. The man said that he did not know the exact cause of the girl's death, but noted that Caro was "ill for a long time," meaning her anorexia.
