Preparation for the Olympiad: expert advice
For preparation, it is not enough just to know the facts, the basic terms of the discipline. To show a good result, you need to prepare deeper. First of all, you need to get carried away with the subject, choose the one that you like more than others in the school schedule, and focus on it.
Even if you really want to take part in the struggle for two subjects, because you like literature and history alike, it is better to choose one thing. There are talents that win in three subjects at once, but these are exceptions, you don't need to chase them.
A few recommendations:
- For serious preparation it is necessary to analyze the tasks of the past years. You can study the requirements of the developers of these tasks.
- Usually, keys are published along with the tasks. It is necessary to review them, to determine the logic of the solution. If you didn't find it the first time, keep looking until you find it.
- It is necessary to divide the available tasks into types, determine the most significant in terms of points, the most common. The description may not be repeated, but the structure will be the same.
- It is necessary to identify the evaluation criteria, to do tasks in accordance with these criteria. This will help determine how much tasks you need to complete for each level.
- We need to find the answers of the winners. This will help you understand how real people thought, how they disassembled and solved tasks.
When preparing for the All-Russian Olympiad, schoolchildren need to memorize a lot of information, repeat already existing information, have time to rest just before the tests, leave time to concentrate - it should be enough for everything.
In order to do everything, it is better to draw up a preparation schedule. Time management techniques will help to evenly distribute time in order to prevent the development of panic, the appearance of unnecessary haste and fuss. With daily preparation for the Olympiad, confidence in yourself and in your own knowledge will arise.
To prepare, you need to use all the resources of your body. You should get enough sleep, walk at least once a day, take vitamins. If you do not listen to the work of your body, then at the most crucial moment it can fail.
