The famous Hollywood actor Robert De Niro turns 70 today. This year, the actor also celebrates another significant date - 50 years in the cinema. De Niro has won two Academy Awards for The Godfather 2 and Raging Bull, as well as many other awards.
Robert De Niro was born in Lower Manhattan, near Greenwich Village, the home of the creative bohemian: his father was a sculptor and his mother was an artist.
De Niro made his film debut in 1963 in Brian De Palma's comedy The Wedding Party. After Martin Scorsese's 1973 film Evil Streets, in which Robert played the role of Johnny Boy, was released, the actor was noticed by Francis Ford Coppola and invited him to play the young Vito Corleone in the second part of The Godfather trilogy. For this role, De Niro received an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
In addition to his film activities, De Niro is engaged in the restaurant business.
Despite his venerable age, the actor continues to act constantly. In 2012 alone, more than ten films with his participation were released. At the end of 2013, the comedy film "The Last Bachelor Party in Vegas" with his participation is expected to be released. Having played in almost 100 films over 50 years, on February 4 this year, the actor left his hand and foot prints on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
