Forbes magazine has repeatedly called Giorgio Armani "the most successful designer in the world." A multi-billion dollar fashion empire, close encounters with the most influential stylish ladies, shows at Parisian Haute Couture weeks. However, the master does not calm down. He continues to expand the spheres of his fashion influence, opens new boutiques, launches new lines, invites megastars to participate in advertising campaigns.

A designer's career began only as a purchasing manager in one of the major Milan department stores. Nevertheless, it was there that 30-year-old Giorgio gained knowledge about textiles and design, which allowed him to become a fashion designer. For about 10 years, Armani trained with famous designers - Nino Cerutti, Emmanuel Ungaro and Ermenegillo Zenya, later was a "free artist", performing private orders.

Since 1970, Giorgio Armani has been creating new models of clothes in several Italian fashion houses, in 1974 the world saw the first collection of Giorgio Armani, the show of which was a great success. Elegant, classic suits in muted shades of brown, gray and black became the main element of the first Armani collection.

Armani says that he has long ago deduced for himself three golden rules of fashion: eliminate excess, emphasize the comfort of the models you offer, and prove that simplicity can be elegant.

In fact, Armani did more than just revolutionize fashion. He helped change the image of Italy and his compatriots. With his soft flowing fabrics of discreet neutral tones, deconstructed jackets, the designer proved that Italian women are not matrons in colorful robes.

1975 marked the beginning of the path to fame and success, when Giorgio Armani, together with Sergio Galleoti, registered the company Giorgio Armani S.p. A. in Italy. When Italy was already at the feet of the fashion designer, Hollywood still did not want to recognize him. Only after Michelle Pfeiffer dared to appear on the cover of a glossy magazine in a suit from Armani, the stars were asked to wear them for the Oscar ceremony. Since then, there has not been a single event with a "star" status at which the name of Giorgio Armani has not sounded.

Today, the product range of Giorgio Armani S.p. A consists of lines of men's and women's clothing, shoes, bags, watches, glasses, jewelry, fragrances and cosmetics, furniture and household goods.

On the eve of his 75th birthday, the maestro practically stopped appearing in the world: he does not come to Fashion Week, does not give interviews to the press, does not attend parties. Recently, the designer officially confirmed that he was seriously ill for a long time. However, this was not reflected in the latest collection presented at the last Haute Couture Week in Paris. The audience, as always, gave a standing ovation to the great talent.
