The famous rapper Zhigan will spend the next year in prison. This decision was made on the eve of the Savelovsky court of Moscow. The perpetrator was found guilty of robbery.
The rapper was arrested last December on charges of robbery in June 2013 against his promoter, who was promoting the rapper's videos on YouTube. The musician was allegedly dissatisfied with the work of the promoter. He made an appointment for the guy in a cafe on Leningradsky Prospekt. When the promoter came, the rapper called him a "scammer", put a knife to his throat and demanded to withdraw 100 thousand rubles from the card and give the tablet computer. At the same time, the artist told the guy that he would owe him another 50 thousand rubles.
The promoter wrote a statement to the police, but Zhigan could not be detained then, since he went on a tour abroad.
This is not the first incident in the rapper's career. In the mid-2000s, the guy was sent to prison for robbery shortly after the release of his first album with his participation, "A Dog's Life". As Zhigan himself said, it was his stay in places not so distant that inspired him to all subsequent albums. In 2009, the artist became famous throughout the country after Vladimir Putin shook Zhigan's hand and presented him with the main prize as part of the Battle for Respect show.
The prosecutor demanded four years in prison for the musician. The artist himself, speaking with the last word, read a recitative: “I want to work, create and create. I have children, and they need me, and I need them. I have something to lose, I am not a criminal and I hope you understand me."
By a court decision, the perpetrator will serve his sentence in a general regime colony. The court also ruled to partially satisfy the civil claim, collecting 120 thousand rubles. The defense of Roma Zhigan intends to appeal against the verdict - the representative of the victim believes that the already served term is enough for the defendant.
