The 45-year-old Mexican celebrity will receive the Commander of the Order from Nicolas Sarkozy this coming weekend. Salma's name appeared on the list of names, which, according to tradition, was solemnly announced on New Year's holidays by representatives of the Elysee Palace.
The Hollywood star married one of the owners of PPR, Francois-Henri Pinault, in April 2009. Two years earlier, the couple had a daughter, Valentina Paloma. The couple planned to get married a year after the appearance of the baby, but unexpectedly broke up for everyone. After the lovers were reunited and still legalized their relationship.
As noted by the media, previously such an award was awarded to such Hollywood stars as Robert De Niro, Clint Eastwood and Robert Redford.
Let us recall that the Order of the Legion of Honor was established by Napoleon Bonaparte in May 1802, following the example of the knightly orders. Belonging to the order is the highest mark of distinction, honor and official recognition of special merit in France. Admission to the Order is carried out for outstanding military or civil service by the President of the French Republic.
Moreover, Salma is not the only one in the family to receive the order. Her father-in-law, billionaire and philanthropist Francois Pinault, was awarded the highest rank of the order - the title of a great officer. So now two "knights" will appear in the Pino clan at once.
