How and why we rest in January 2021:

2-6 - official days off according to the production calendar;
7 - Nativity of Christ is a great holiday of the Russian Orthodox Church, second in importance after Easter.
8 is an official day off, since the holiday falls on Thursday - a weekday.

Due to the fact that not a single holiday in January fell on the weekend, there will be no transfers.

With a shift schedule, days that are officially days off are double paid. At the legislative level, the issue of making December 31 an official day off has been repeatedly submitted for consideration, since the pre-holiday atmosphere is absolutely not conducive to work.

And preparation for the holiday takes a lot of time and effort, especially for the female half of the population. But in 2019, this initiative was rejected. If changes are not made to the Labor Code, then December 31 will be a working day, but a shortened day (by 1 hour). How we rest in January 2021 is noted in the production calendar.

You can choose a time for a trip out of town, arrange a real holiday for yourself: grill barbecue, take a steam bath, go ice skating, skiing or sledging. Then warm up by the fire and end the day in a cozy house with a cup of tea from a samovar. In general, there are a lot of ideas, everyone will certainly find a way to spend the weekend.

What other holidays are there in January

In addition to the main, well-known holidays, January is rich in other significant dates celebrated by Orthodox Christians:

Circumcision of the Lord - January 14, Thursday;
The Baptism of the Lord - the 19th, on Tuesday.

During the winter holidays, when not only schoolchildren, students, but also adults have a rest, the Nativity Fast is held until January 6 inclusive, which begins on November 28.

International Thank You Day - Monday, January 11;
Day of workers of the prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation - on Tuesday, January 12;
Russian Press Day - Wednesday, January 13;
Old New Year - from Thursday to Friday, from January 14-15;
Engineering Troops Day - Thursday, January 21;
Handwriting Day - Saturday 23 January;
Day of the student of the Russian Federation (known as Tatyana's day) - on Monday, January 25;
Naval Navigator Day - Monday, January 25.

Despite the significance of the dates, these holidays are not official. Accordingly, no one is exempted from performing direct labor duties; they will have to be at their workplaces.

Outcomes

To the delight of Russians, in January 2021 there will be more days off than workers (16 versus 15). In this case, there will be no transfers, since the holidays fall on weekdays.
The last working day of the year - December 31 - will be reduced by one hour.
In addition to public holidays (January 1 and 7), the month is rich in other significant dates, but these days are not days off.
