The production calendar for January 2022 in Russia, indicating how we rest and how much we work, is interesting to everyone who is waiting for the New Year holidays. Despite the statements that this document has no official status and is not an attachment to any regulatory or legislative document, it is difficult to overestimate its importance in personnel and accounting, payroll. It is used when receiving information about official days off and transfers made by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection in accordance with labor legislation.

What it is

The working time schedule changes every year, and the reason is not only the number of days (simple or leap year), but also the inevitable movement of dates by day of the week. This creates a need to compensate workers for the official holidays that fall on Saturday and Sunday. The production calendar in January 2022 in Russia is developed in advance by the government and the relevant ministry, it reflects information on how we rest and how much we work.

The possibility of transferring working days in order to extend the New Year holidays is being considered. If the available options seem irrational, they are added to other federal holidays in order to extend the rest period.

The production calendar in January 2022 in Russia is necessary to solve several problems:

  • provide employees with simple weekends and holidays fixed at the state level;
  • inform personnel officers and accountants about the norms of working hours for a month;
  • indicate the schedule resulting from the action of a special law on the transfer of a holiday;
  • post universal information on the procedure for working for workers with an employer of any form of ownership.

With the help of the production calendar in Russia, timesheets and work schedules are compiled, compliance with labor legislation is checked, vacations and benefits are calculated. For ordinary workers, this document will help determine the length of the rest time, the expected workload and working days according to the shift schedule.

When will be made public

In the autumn of the outgoing year, a preliminary version is drawn up, with which everyone can familiarize themselves. At the same time, the Ministry of Labor and Social Development is considering transfer options. In January, they are not always successful, hence the different duration of the New Year holidays (from 8 to 10 days).

Then a government decree is adopted, approving the changes and transfers. Thus, the project is officially approved. For example, the year before last it happened on October 10, but this date is not legally approved for this purpose, but arbitrary.

January realities

In Russia, the production calendar in January 2022 certainly contains references to the fact that long weekends, despite their clear sequence, have a different status and may vary in duration.

So far, there is only a preliminary project that clearly demonstrates how we rest, but it can already be guided in planning a traditional short vacation. It is not yet known whether December 31 will be an official holiday (although such proposals have been repeatedly voiced by lawmakers). This day falls on Friday and will be shortened by an hour, so perhaps this date will be chosen for corporate events and pre-holiday feasts.

Further, the situation is not very favorable for both employees and the Ministry of Labor. Therefore, the official weekend will last not 10, but 9 days, and you will have to make as many as three transfers:

  • January 1 and 2 - Saturday and Sunday. The state is obliged to compensate for the official days off, which fell on simple days of rest, therefore, it is planned to postpone it to March 7 and May 3. The extension will affect International Women's Day and the first May holidays.
  • Saturday, January 8, is moved to Tuesday, May 10. So the rest is extended for one more day, since May 9 is Victory Day.
  • There is another option, in which Saturday, January 1, will be postponed to May 3, and Sunday, January 2, to May 4.

New Year's holidays will last not 8 days, as defined in the legislation, but 9, because January 9 falls on Sunday. Since this is a simple day off, it cannot be tolerated.

According to federal law, New Year's holidays are January 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8. 7 - a church holiday, Christmas. It turns out to celebrate 10 days only if the days of the week are favorable, and, as you know, it is not obtained every year.

Work and holidays

In January of the new year, Russians will have the opportunity to have a good rest and gain strength. You can rest in it for 15 days, but you will have to work only 1 more day. The working time norms are already known - you can find them in the table below:

Working week 40 hours 36 hour work week Work 24 hours a week.
128 hours 115.2 hours 76.8 hours

General data for January 2022:

  • calendar days - 31;
  • workers - 16;
  • weekends - 15 (of which only 2 are public holidays, the rest are simply called New Year's holidays), or these are Saturdays and Sundays (15-16, 22-23, 29-30).

New Year's holidays have centuries-old traditions. The newest history started in the Soviet Union; in the second decade of the last century, the official consolidation of the holiday took place at the national level. In independent Russia, the number of holidays increased gradually.

First, they added January 2-3 to the first, then 4-6 joined the Orthodox Nativity of Christ. Despite the fact that the 8th is the official end of the celebration, many Russians can remember the years when the celebration lasted 11 days.

This does not mean that the production calendar for January 2022 will only be needed to determine the number of days allowed for rest. Already from January 10, working days will begin, alternating with Saturdays and Sundays, - the days established for rest by labor legislation on the basis of scientific and medical calculations.

Despite the claims that Russia is ahead of many countries of the world in terms of the number of days allotted for rest, many peoples have a tradition of rest at the beginning of the year. Catholics celebrate Christmas before the New Year, so their holidays begin at the end of the year and end at the beginning of the next. Tourists who visited Europe at that time were able to see the complete calm: catering and cultural establishments were closed. In Russia at this time there are museums, festivals and fairs, street concerts.
