Mohammed Ali is gone

America and all boxing fans are in mourning. The day before, on June 3, the brightest star of boxing passed away. Muhammad Ali died in a clinic in Phoenix, Arizona at the age of 74.

"I flutter like a butterfly, pity like a bee" is one of Ali's most famous phrases. He was one of the most titled and recognizable athletes in the world. Olympic champion in 1960, absolute world heavyweight champion (1964-1966, 1974-1978) and five-time Boxer of the Year.

Over a 20-year career, Muhammad Ali practically did not suffer defeat. During his career, the athlete, who competed in the heavy weight category, had 61 fights, scoring 56 victories (37 of them by knockout). In 1999, Ali received the title of "Sportsman of the Century".

For the past 32 years, Mohammed has suffered from Parkinson's disease. On June 1, the boxer was hospitalized due to lung problems. After diagnosis, he was transferred to the intensive care unit. On Friday, it became known that Ali is dying.

According to press reports, the farewell and funeral with the great athlete is planned to be held in the boxer's hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.
