According to the latest research, men over the age of 50 are biologically programmed to fall in love. This phenomenon is called "Michael Douglas syndrome".

Older men fall in love with young girls, and this is not due to a midlife crisis, as previously thought: they are biologically programmed to fall in love.

Researchers at the Rome Institute of Psychology surveyed 3,000 people in their 50s and over to create a comprehensive picture of the male heart.

Bill Clinton, who met Monica Lewinsky after he turned 49, may be another example of this trend.

According to the study, the first time a man falls in love (or thinks he has fallen in love) was in his youth. But that doesn't mean anything, it's just a "puppy's delight", which will be replaced by a more serious feeling a little later, upon reaching the 20th anniversary.

The next stage, when a man wants to "give his love" begins after 30 years and lasts right up to 50. But as soon as they approach the coveted figure of 50, their predisposition to the emergence of new love turns on.

This is the Michael Douglas phenomenon: men break up with their partner, with whom they have spent several decades, and fall in love with someone much younger.
