According to the researchers, the differences in preference are explained by evolution, namely, the evolutionary division of responsibilities. For a woman, reddish colors are more associated with the color of ripe fruits or with a healthy complexion. In the course of the study, a group of men and women were asked to choose from the colored rectangles that appear in pairs on the computer screen those that they like best. Moreover, this had to be done without hesitation, as quickly as possible. In total, each was shown about 1000 pairs of figures. The data obtained were analyzed for correspondence to different parts of the visible spectrum, and as a result, a clear relationship became clear: women preferred pink tones, while men gravitated towards blues and blues.

"We assumed that the dependence of color preferences on gender developed on the basis of the labor specialization of sexes in the process of evolution," says Anya Harlbert, the head of the research team. "There were biological prerequisites for women to fall in love with pink tones. the mix is a bluish-red color, which is a variation of lilac or pink."
