How will the exam take place

The USE in mathematics will be conducted in a standard form, as it was in the previous several years. No changes are expected in 2021 yet. But the exam has several features that you need to familiarize yourself with before passing:

1. The exam in mathematics has two levels of difficulty: basic and advanced.
2. When submitting an application, the student indicates what he will take: base or profile.

4. The exam does not take place at the school of origin.
5. To complete the tasks of the base and profile, 180 and 235 minutes are allotted, respectively.

How to choose the difficulty level

Each student must choose what level of difficulty they will take. The graduate has the opportunity to present solutions to both the base and the profile. But this option is suitable only for those who have not yet decided on a profession. Teachers advise, already in the 10th grade, to make such a decision in order to immediately start preparing for the exam, without overloading your brain.

The basic level is advised to take students who plan to enter the humanitarian specialty. But before filling out the application, you should study the list of exams required for admission. If it contains basic mathematics, then you don't need to prepare for a more difficult level.

Some students apply for both the base and the profile, because they doubt their abilities. If you cannot get the desired result on a more difficult level, then you will not have to wait for a retake. Basic mathematics will definitely be passed. However, the professions related to physics, economics, and engineering will have to be forgotten for at least a year.

Basic level features

The simplified version of the exam includes 20 exercises, for the solution of which the student will receive 3 hours. The tasks must be given short answers.

For calculations, each examinee will have a draft. It is optional to fill it. However, teachers advise using the following scheme when solving USE tasks:

1. See all tasks.
2. Write down the answers to the light exercises on a draft.
3. Try to complete tasks more difficult.
4. Check the results.
5. Fill out the answer form.

To pass the threshold and receive a school certificate, the student needs to correctly solve 7 tasks. The results of the basic difficulty level are not transferred to the 100-point system. But conditionally 20 correct answers correspond to 100 points.

What is included in the profile

The exam of this level of difficulty consists of 32 tasks related to 6 thematic blocks. Among all the exercises, only 8 belong to the base, the rest are divided into higher and higher degrees.

The student will be able to get a maximum of 32 primary points, which correspond to 100 final points. To enter a prestigious educational institution, you will need to score at least 95 points.
