The share of beautiful female eyes, perhaps, has the largest number of various epithets. It is through the eyes that we love and hate, seduce and repulse, respect and despise. And the most important place in the make-up is given to the eyes. Correctly chosen eye makeup can emphasize and highlight not only beauty, but also the depth of feelings. Almost all women use mascara, as it allows you to highlight the eyes and give them an expressive shape.

What should you know about mascara to avoid post-purchase disappointments?

There are two types of mascara, which differ significantly from each other in their composition and action: water-soluble (common) and waterproof.

Water soluble ink depending on the decorative effect is subdivided into the following types:

-

Part lengthening mascara used to add silk fibers or felt dust. Prestigious brands have abandoned this technology. After all, crumbling, these dust particles-villi irritate the mucous membrane of the eyes, settle on the cheeks. Now, so that mascara for lengthening eyelashes does not lie down in a thick layer, it is made with a more liquid consistency on a polymer basis. Drying, the polymers form a thin film on the eyelashes. To distinguish such mascara, you need to unscrew the cap, remove the brush and examine it carefully.

To lengthen the eyelashes, use a brush with a thin bristle, which allows you to apply paint along the entire length of the eyelashes.

Mascara, curling eyelashes, has a concave brush with short bristles.

Mascara, smoothly staining, has an applicator in the form of a very thick brush, moreover, with villi of different lengths. Short villi paint over each eyelash, while long ones evenly distribute mascara over the surface of the eyelashes.

Mascara to increase the volume of eyelashes much thicker, since it is made on a wax basis. Mascara lays down on the eyelashes in a thick layer. The bristles of the volumizing brush also appear thick. The pile on them is thick and each bristle is equipped with a micro-comb to separate the colored eyelashes from one another.

Generally, water soluble mascara preference is given, since it is much easier to wash off than waterproof, although in exceptional cases (in rainy or snowy weather, in the pool) waterproof mascara is indispensable. But on oily skin, waterproof "mascara" can start to blur. To increase the resistance of the carcass to the effects of water, substances that form films, for example, emulsions with polyvinyl acetate, are added to it. V waterproof mascara resins are included among other components. It is they who resist the onslaught of the water element - neither tears, nor the sea, nor rain will wash the waterproof mascara from the eyelashes. And if it contains hydrogen peroxide, then it will also last twice as long on the eyelashes (up to 7 days). Being a "persistent tin soldier" by nature, this mascara can be washed off only with a special make-up remover lotion. The color palette of waterproof mascara is usually limited to black, brown and blue.

Delicate mascara prescribed for sensitive individuals with delicate eyes. The packaging usually says Oftalmologically tested. If you wear contact lenses, look for this mark first.

Another type of mascara - clear gel … The gel gives shape and shine to eyelashes and eyebrows. The gel is devoid of heavy dyes and is saturated with protein, keratin and special oils that give elasticity to eyelashes and emphasize their beauty. The gel works best for long black thick eyelashes that don't even need black mascara, and, of course, it fixes the shape of the eyebrows.

Mascara is one of the most challenging products in the cosmetics industry. There is practically no company whose mascara would not cause complaints. Mascara is not a cosmetic product that can be stored for a long time. Mascara needs to be changed frequently.

If you've purchased mascara, use it every day to make the most of it. Even if you started using mascara, and then put it aside, preferring another, the drying process cannot be stopped, because air has entered the bottle. Mascara cannot be "preserved" for three months, and then start using it again (as, for example, you can do with blush, shadows that do not contain moisture, greasy and waxy components that can deteriorate, so they are stored much longer than mascara or lipstick) … It is imperative to ensure that the bottle is tightly closed. Often mascara gets on the "neck" of the bottle, hammering the thread onto which the cap is screwed. If this happens, remove the mascara with water or Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover. Otherwise, there is a gap for air to enter the bottle, and the mascara dries. The more often the bottle is opened, the more air gets there, the faster the ink dries.

How to apply mascara correctly?

Mascara is the final touch to eye makeup. First, eyeliner is done with a pencil, shadows are applied, then everything is carefully shaded and only at the very end is ink applied. For daytime makeup, apply mascara in one layer. It is more convenient to apply mascara first to the lower eyelashes, and then to the upper ones (this excludes the possibility of printing already dyed upper eyelashes on the eyelids).

However, there are no very strict rules on this matter. And in order to create an evening make-up option, mascara can be applied in two or three layers. This is done as follows: first, eyelashes are painted over with mascara on one eye, and then on the other. This allows the first layer of mascara to dry. It is imperative to apply the next layer of mascara on dried eyelashes. If you use an eyelash curler, you must first pinch the eyelashes, and only then apply mascara (thicker dried mascara, since liquid and wet mascara will reduce the effect of curled eyelashes to nothing, and dried mascara will more easily paint over curled eyelashes and give them thickness). The fresher the mascara, the wetter it is and the more difficult it is to paint over the eyelashes, to achieve a thicker effect - you need to apply more layers. A thick mascara will make your eyelashes velvety in just one move. Thus, the slightly thick mascara is multifunctional - it can satisfy any consumer's needs. Thick mascara is convenient as it allows you to achieve the desired effect of thick and voluminous lashes. Because mascara tends to thicken, you don't have to reapply it to your lashes to add volume.

Several important points

When choosing a mascara, be sure to test it on the back of your hand. Swipe with a brush and carefully study the picture: if there are any lumps, if the paint is evenly distributed.

If all the mascara is on the tip of the brush, it means that it is not very well "wrung out" in the bottle.

Feel free to sniff the contents. Mascara can have an unpleasant odor that will annoy you. And, by the way, if suddenly your mascara has changed the smell - it's time to throw it away, and it's better to do it once every six months.

Anyone who constantly uses the same brush, inserting it into all new cans, can introduce a large number of microbes into the eyes. Therefore, in the interests of your own safety, you should not get carried away with "spare parts", and also borrow mascara from a friend for a while.

According to GOST, the bottle or packaging box with ink must contain: name, trademark, composition, barcode, country and manufacturer, date of manufacture, expiration date and / or deadline for sale.

At night, the mascara must be washed off. You can use soap and water, but if the mascara is really long-lasting, it's not that easy. On the other hand, cosmetologists do not insist on buying special products for removing paint from eyelashes - you can limit yourself to cosmetic creams and lotions for cleaning the face. They contain special substances to dissolve and remove various ingredients. Just remember that oil-based cleansing creams are best for removing waterproof mascara.
