Diane Kruger, Elizabeth Banks and top model Alessandra Ambrosio paraded in style on the red carpet at the opening ceremony. The journalists especially remembered Alessandra, who appeared in a bold white openwork dress with wide straps and a bandeau instead of a top.

The first premiere in Venice was the screening of Everest by Icelandic director Baltasar Kormakur. As you might guess from the name, we are talking about one of the expeditions to the highest mountain. Namely about the 1996 ascent. Then among the participants of the expedition was the legendary Russian climber Anatoly Bukreev. The climbers were overtaken by a storm, and Boukreev, in pitch darkness, went alone in search of them and rescued the team. The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Keira Knightley.

The Venice Film Festival runs until September 12th. According to secular observers, the struggle for the main award - the "Golden Lion" - promises to be very intense.

There are a lot of artists among the participants in the main competition, including Tom Hooper with the film "A Girl from Denmark" and the Russian cinematographer Alexander Sokurov with the film "Francophonie". By the way, Sokurov's tape about the rescue of the Louvre masterpieces during the Second World War, created in co-production of three countries - France, Germany, the Netherlands, will be presented today, September 3.
