Elvis Presley's library card went under the hammer for $ 7,500, and this is not surprising. For fans of the king of rock and roll, a card with the signature of the then 13-year-old Presley can be considered a big booty, because this is, in fact, the first autograph of a star.

According to the auction house, the signature dated December 1948 on the card is indeed the earliest known autograph of the iconic artist. The future star at that time still only dreamed of fame, and in his arsenal there was only one award - a prize for performing the Old Shep folk song at a fair in Tupelo's hometown.

The interest in the person of the king of rock and roll is so great that at auctions lots related to the life or work of Presley are sold like hotcakes. So, at various times, a lock of the singer's hair, his watch, a Mercedes car (it was sold for 95 thousand euros) were exhibited as lots at auctions, and a portrait of Elvis by Andy Warhol went under the hammer for 37 million dollars.

On Thursday, the artist's fans celebrate 35 years since the death of Elvis Presley, and it was on this date that the auction in Memphis was timed. In addition to the same library card, the star's revolver was put up for sale, which was eventually sold for 13 thousand dollars, as well as his diamond ring, guitar, raincoat, police officer's badge and other things.

It is worth noting that the singer remains at the top of the rating of the best-selling musicians in the field of popular music to this day. During his lifetime, he managed to record 150 albums, and more than a billion Presley discs have been sold worldwide.
