Reading fiction is undoubtedly an interesting activity. And in the near future, it promises to be even more fun. Thus, scientists from South Korea presented a book created using 3D technology. Thus, one can not only read about the character, but also contemplate his three-dimensional image.

3D pioneers among the books were two editions of Korean children's fairy tales, on which scientists from the Institute of Science and Technology of Gwangju City worked. The illustrations in the book have certain marks that trigger 3D animation, visible to readers wearing special glasses. It took scientists several years to create the book. The possible price of such a book has not yet been reported, but scientists have expressed confidence that after a while, 3D books will be available to the mass buyer.

Interest in 3D technologies was awakened by the blockbusters "Avatar" and "Alice in Wonderland", in which new opportunities to add volume to what is happening are used to the fullest.

“It took us three years to create the software,” said project manager Kim Sang. "But it will take some time before this technology becomes generally available."

Meanwhile, Gazeta.ru notes that a few weeks ago, a 3D newspaper was launched in Belgium. Each issue of the weekly La Derniere Heure comes with special glasses. The idea of reformation of the most conservative media of the publishers was prompted by the growing popularity of the 3D format.

The editor-in-chief of Uber Leclercq explains that all the photographs posted on the pages of the newspaper are three-dimensional. To achieve the best image quality, the new issue of the newspaper was printed on high quality paper, which allows you to achieve the best effect from viewing the newspaper in 3D.
