Video: True female friendship stories
2024 Author: James Gerald | [email protected]. Last modified: 2023-12-17 14:00
The whole history of feminism, the struggle to ensure that men and women have the same rights, is about female friendship. Women can unite and achieve truly great results. And the phrases that “female friendship does not exist” were probably invented by men.
Empress Catherine the Great and Catherine Dashkova
This famous friendship between women contributed to the history of Russia.
Empress Catherine, under whom the Russian Empire flourished economically and culturally, was born in Prussia and in her youth was married to the heir to the Russian throne, Peter III. Catherine came to power after a palace coup in 1762. The empress's companion was her friend - also Catherine, Princess Dashkova, who from a young age was fond of politics and was able to convince the Russian aristocracy that the Prussian princess deserves the throne more than the heir to the throne. The friends were superbly educated and had similar literary tastes. It cannot be said that the relationship between Catherine was always cloudless. For example, Princess Dashkova was dissatisfied with the personnel decisions of the queen and her favorites. Moreover, I had the courage to show it. At the same time, Princess Dashkova was very devoted to the empress. After living for years in Europe, where her son studied, Dashkova returned to Russia.
The Empress did not forget her old friend and appointed Dashkova director of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences (under the presidency of Count K. G. Razumovsky). So Ekaterina Dashkova became the first woman in the world to run the Academy of Sciences.
Sofia Kovalevskaya and Julia Lermontova
The famous mathematician Sophia Kovalevskaya was friends with many educated women of her time. But her closest friend was Yulia Lermontova, the first woman chemist and, incidentally, a distant relative of the poet Lermontov.
Despite the fact that the world of science at that time was closed to women, Sophia and Yulia went to Germany for knowledge - to the University of Heidelberg, which was famous for its natural science school. It was here that the ladies, as an exception, were allowed to study some courses as volunteers, and Julia was allowed to work in a chemical laboratory.
The diligence and ability of the Russian "students" impressed the professors - Sofia and Yulia received permission to attend any lectures they wished. It was here, at the University of Heidelberg, that Julia conducted serious scientific research - the complex separation of rare metals. We heard a lot about the mathematician Kovalevskaya: she became a Corresponding Member of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences and a professor at Stockholm University. We know less about Yulia Lermontova, although her merits are no less great. At the age of 28, Doctor of Chemistry Julia Lermontova returned to Moscow and continued her research. Julia's achievements meant a lot for the emergence of the oil refining industry in Russia. With age, Lermontova became interested in agronomy and seed production - she enthusiastically experimented on her Semenkovo estate. Sophia and Julia carried on friendship through the years. When Sophia Kovalevskaya suddenly died, Julia took care of her friend's daughter and in her will signed her Semyonkovo estate into full ownership of little Sophia Vladimirovna Kovalevskaya.
Lyudmila Zykina and Ekaterina Furtseva
The famous performer of Russian folk songs Lyudmila Zykina was friends with the Minister of Culture of the USSR Yekaterina Furtseva for many years. At the same time, the singer was not even a party member. Eyewitnesses say that the friendship of the two women was the most sincere - they steamed together in the bath, fished.
Minister Yekaterina Furtseva was called Catherine III for her strong and domineering character. It was not easy to be friends with her. Already in our time, Lyudmila Georgievna in an interview called Furtseva her "image maker". The story of how Lyudmila Zykina asked a high-ranking friend for permission to buy a Peugeot car became a legend - she really wanted a foreign car. But Furtseva forbade her - she said that a Russian singer of Russian songs must drive a Russian car. Therefore, Lyudmila Zykina drove the new Volga.
When Yekaterina Furtseva died in 1974, Lyudmila Zykina sang a crying song at her coffin "Oh, the swan is not swimming along the river …"
Lee and Jacqueline Bouvier
Sisters Lee and Jacqueline Bouvier were completely different. The outgoing Lee loved holidays and parties, and the withdrawn Jacqueline preferred to spend time with a book. When the serious Jackie got a job in the newspaper and began to live independently, Lee was looking for a suitable husband. It seemed that Lee's coquette would certainly become a secular lioness, and Jacqueline would build a brilliant career. But fate had its own plans. Lee married the publisher Cass Kenfield in 1953, and Jackie unexpectedly won the heart of Senator John F. Kennedy - and also married in 1953. It so happened that a few years later, Jackie became the first lady - Jacqueline Kennedy, and Lee remained in the shadow of her glory. But the sisters did not move away from each other. People from the environment of Jacqueline Kennedy revealed the secret of her unique style: the fact is that both sisters worked on the appearance of the first lady. As a result, the style of Jacqueline was imitated and is still imitated by millions of women.
Anna German and Anna Kachalina
Do you have a real girlfriend?
Yes! | |
Not sure. | |
No. |
The ascent of the star Anna German was rapid. In 1964, at a competition in Sopot, Herman received two prizes at once - in an international competition and in a show of Polish songs. After that, there were tours to the USSR, where Anna gave 60 concerts. But the singer would not have become so famous in our country if not for her acquaintance with the music editor of the Melodiya studio, Anna Kachalina. It was thanks to her that "Melody" released the singer's first disc. The two Annas were very friendly - the workers of the Melodiya studio called them that: Anya Svetlaya and Anya Dark. Kachalina helped Herman to select songs in Russian and generally contributed to her work.
As a result, it turned out that in the Soviet Union Anna German was released on records more often than in Poland. That is why many Poles considered Anna a Russian singer.

Success and friendship
Remember the saying: with whom you lead - from that you will gain. Few are fully aware of the tremendous impact friends have on our lives. Only parents and relatives are not chosen - friends are chosen. And success in life largely depends on our choice. Few consciously seek friendship. More often it happens quite by accident: somewhere someone met someone by chance, talked - found a common language, it turned out, "kindred" souls
The bitter experience of friendship with a man
And once something that started so well ended so strangely. We were on our way from the holiday, Stas was in that state when the alcohol he had drunk allowed him to say what in an absolutely sober state my friend would not have said for any gingerbread. It turned out that he "very much appreciates" all our friendship with him, he is pleased to communicate with me, but all this time he, it turns out, LOVED me
