Naturalness in everything is a trend of the last few years. But this is not just a fashion trend. For many of us, this is a conscious need: we want to eat healthy food, breathe clean air, raise healthy and happy children. We don't want to just consume anymore, we want to consume consciously.

Today's article is devoted to one of the most popular eco-directions of our life - biocosmetics. We will try to figure out what it is all the same, how biocosmetics differ from the usual and how to recognize it.

What are natural cosmetics?

Natural (bio) cosmetics are cosmetics that use natural ingredients in their production. At the same time, some components permitted in the production of conventional cosmetics are strictly prohibited in products labeled "bio".

Most of the companies that make real natural cosmetics adhere to the following (and many others) rules:

  • The products do not contain: petroleum products, mineral (paraffinic) oils, synthetic fragrances and dyes, parabens, substances of animal origin, genetically modified products;
  • Only natural or approved preservatives identical to natural are used;
  • The products are not tested on animals.

How can a common consumer recognize such cosmetics?

Unfortunately, at the moment there is no single international definition and clear legal requirements for natural cosmetics. Therefore, you may come across a product labeled "bio" / "eco", based only on the content of natural extracts or other natural component in it. However, at the same time, synthetic preservatives, mineral oils or parabens may be present in its composition.

Therefore, by and large, you have two choices. The first is to carefully read and analyze the composition of each agent. But there is a difficulty here: not everyone can read and understand the composition correctly. The second and most true for a simple consumer is to buy products that have an eco-certificate, which is issued only if the manufacturer observes the above and many other rules. It should be noted that such certification is voluntary for manufacturers and, moreover, it is paid, therefore, if he has already decided to certify his products, then he is confident in their quality.

How do you know if a product has such an eco-certificate?

The eco-certification icon is usually displayed on the product packaging.

Products and services natuderm® botanics - real certified biocosmetics from Germany, which have bio-certificates BDIH and / or NaTrue … You will find the badges of one of these certificates on the packaging of each product.

What useful components in biocosmetics should you pay attention to?

Nature is a storehouse of nutrients. The only important thing is how these substances are grown, collected and stored. In the production of real natural cosmetics, this is also taken into account. Cosmetic products can contain oils and extracts of various plants such as aloe vera, witch hazel, sea buckthorn, olive, green tea, rose hips, ginkgo biloba, etc.

The extract of the leaves of the latter is contained in absolutely every product natuderm® botanics … And for good reason. Ginkgo biloba is one of the oldest trees on Earth. The first ginkgo biloba appeared - just think about it! - 250 million years ago, when there were no birds or dinosaurs on Earth yet, and a significant part of Europe was under the water of the ancient ocean.

The oldest ginkgo biloba on Earth is now about 4,000 years old! This tree grows in a small village in the Chinese province of Guizhou. For a long time, locals have consumed the fruits of ginkgo biloba in food to improve health and restore vitality. Due to its longevity and healing properties, ginkgo is still considered a sacred plant in Asia.

The positive effect of ginkgo extract on human skin can hardly be overestimated. The polyphenols contained in it protect the skin from free radicals and, as a result, from premature aging. This life-giving extract stimulates the renewal of skin cells, strengthens it and counteracts the formation of wrinkles.

How much does real natural cosmetics cost?

Basically, real certified natural cosmetics presented on the Russian market, especially European ones, are not cheap pleasure. But the rule would not be the rule if it had no exceptions. One of them is natuderm® botanics products that are affordable for any woman.

Summing up, I would like to say how wonderful it is that in our age of urbanization, poor ecology, the dominance of semi-finished products and substitutes for natural products, we have the opportunity to use something truly natural. It's so natural!
